You will need bendable straws and Plaster of Paris (careful, it's dangerous, read instructions on side of the package for Plaster of Paris, can cause serious burns). For the boat, you can look at a picture of a reproduction of a papyrus boat here and use the straws to make your own if you don't have access to the book.
